Assistance with Ben Fund Set-up
NYSUT will assist locals in negotiating for a Fund.
NYSUT Member Benefits Trust will provide sample contract language and assistance in completing the legal requirements for setting up a Fund. These requirements include The Trust Document and filing for Tax-Exempt Status and a Tax Identification Number. NYSUT Member Benefits Trust will help pay for attorney and accountant fees necessary to complete these documents when new Funds work through this department for these services.
Member Benefits will provide trustee training on Fund operations and fiduciary responsibilities, as well as benefits available. We will make professional referrals as necessary and serve as a resource for new and established Funds.
