Looking to the Future: United
The most important part of the union's name is the second-to-last word: United. Without unity, NYSUT would not have been created. Unity among its statewide membership keeps New York State United Teachers strong. Over the last 25 years, NYSUT has emerged as a vibrant and respected force in New York State public education and in the labor movement. As the union begins its second quarter-century, there will be new challenges in the fields of public education and health care, but the union will respond as it always has: with unity and with a commitment to the highest standards for ourselves and the students in our care.
