Consumer Price Index - March 2008
ALL URBAN CONSUMERS
The United States City Average Consumer Price Index (CPI) for March 2008 was 213.528 — representing an increase of 4.0 percent over the index for March 2007.
The Northeast Area Consumer Price Index for March 2008 was 226.926 – representing an increase of 3.9 percent over the index for March 2007.
The New York-Northern New Jersey Area Consumer Price Index for March 2008 was 233.122 — representing an increase of 3.8 percent over the index for March 2007.
The April CPI will be available May 14, 2008.
Future projections of the CPI by businesses and economic organizations are found on page 3. CPI increases are projected at 3.5 percent for 2008 and 2.4 percent in 2009.
