The United States City Average Consumer Price Index (CPI) for June 2008 was 218.815 — representing an increase of 5.0 percent over the index for June 2007.
The Northeast Area Consumer Price Index for June 2008 was 232.649 – representing an increase of 5.0 percent over the index for June 2007.
The New York-Northern New Jersey Area Consumer Price Index for June 2008 was 238.580 — representing an increase of 4.5 percent over the index for June 2007.
The July CPI will be available August 14, 2008.
Future projections of the CPI by businesses and economic organizations are found on page 3. CPI increases are projected at 4.2 percent for 2008 and 2.6 percent in 2009.
