The United States City Average Consumer Price Index (CPI) for November 2008 was 212.425 – representing an increase of 1.1 percent over the index for November 2007.
The Northeast Area Consumer Price Index for November 2008 was 227.236 – representing an increase of 1.7 percent over the index for November 2007.
The New York-Northern New Jersey Area Consumer Price Index for November 2008 was 234.498 – representing an increase of 2.2 percent over the index for November 2007.
The December CPI will be available January 16, 2009.
Future projections of the CPI by businesses and economic organizations are found on page 3.CPI increases are projected at 4.0 percent for 2008 and 0.6 percent in 2009.
