The United States City Average Consumer Price Index (CPI) for February 2009 was 212.193 —representing an increase of 0.2 percent over the index for February 2008.
The Northeast Area Consumer Price Index for February 2009 was 226.754 – representing an increase of 0.7 percent over the index for February 2008.
The New York-Northern New Jersey Area Consumer Price Index for February 2009 was 234.663 — representing an increase of 1.6 percent over the index for February 2008.
The March CPI will be available April 15, 2009.
Future projections of the CPI by businesses and economic organizations are found on page 3.CPI increases are projected at -0.8 percent for 2009 and 1.6 percent in 2010.
