The United States City Average Consumer Price Index (CPI) for April 2009 was213.240 —representing a change of -0.7 percent over the index for April 2008.
The Northeast Area Consumer Price Index for April 2009 was 227.840 – representing a change of -0.1 percent over the index for April 2008.
The New York-Northern New Jersey Area Consumer Price Index for April 2009 was 235.582 — representing a change of 0.8 percent over the index for April 2008.
The May CPI will be available June 17, 2009.
Future projections of the CPI by businesses and economic organizations are found on page 3.CPI increases are projected at -0.8 percent for 2009 and 1.7 percent in 2010.
