The United States City Average Consumer Price Index (CPI) for July 2009 was 215.351 — representing a change of -2.1 percent over the index for July 2008.
The Northeast Area Consumer Price Index for July 2009 was 230.154 – representing a change of -1.9 percent over the index for July 2008.
The New York-Northern New Jersey Area Consumer Price Index for July 2009 was 237.600 — representing a change of -1.1 percent over the index for July 2008.
The August CPI will be available September 16, 2009.
Future projections of the CPI by businesses and economic organizations are found on page 3.
CPI increases are projected at -0.5 percent for 2009 and 1.9 percent in 2010.
