ZARB Commission Final Report Released

On March 29, 2004 the Governor's Commission on Education Reform, commonly referred to as the Zarb Commission, issued their final report. The Commission was created by Governor Pataki to respond to the Court of Appeals ruling in the CFE case.
In June 2003, the Court of Appeals directed the Governor and Legislature to enact appropriate funding and accountability reforms by July 30, 2004 to ensure that New York City schools would have the resources necessary to provide students with the opportunity for a sound basic education.
The Commission's report includes a series of recommendations on both funding and accountability. A complete copy of the report can be obtained at www.state.ny.us.
