Consumer Price Index - October 2006
The United States City Average Consumer Price Index (CPI) for October 2006 was 201.8 — representing an increase of 1.3 percent over the index for October 2005.
The New York-Northern New Jersey Area Consumer Price Index for October 2006 was 221.7 — representing an increase of 2.4 percent over the index for October 2005.
The November CPI will be available December 15, 2006.
Future projections of the CPI by businesses and economic organizations are found on page 3. CPI increases are projected at 3.4 percent for 2006 and 2.3 percent in 2007.
