Consumer Price Index - December 2006
The United States City Average Consumer Price Index (CPI) for December 2006 was 201.8 — representing an increase of 2.5 percent over the index for December 2005.
The New York-Northern New Jersey Area Consumer Price Index for November 2006 was 221.3 — representing an increase of 3.3 percent over the index for November 2005.
The January CPI will be available February 21, 2007.
Future projections of the CPI by businesses and economic organizations are found on page 3 of the PDF version. CPI increases are projected at 2.0 percent for 2007 and 2.3 percent in 2008.
