The United States City Average Consumer Price Index (CPI) for February 2008 was 211.693 – representing an increase of 4.0 percent over the index for February 2007.
The Northeast Area Consumer Price Index for February 2008 was 225.213 – representing an increase of 4.0 percent over the index for February 2007.
The New York-Northern New Jersey Area Consumer Price Index for February 2008 was 231.020 - representing an increase of 3.6 percent over the index for February 2007.
The March CPI will be available April 16, 2008.
Future projections of the CPI by businesses and economic organizations are found on page 3. CPI increases are projected at 3.4 percent for 2008 and 2.4 percent in 2009.
