2012 NYSUT PROFESSIONAL ISSUES FORUM ON HEALTH CARE
Celebrating 10 Years of Advocacy and Activism
The Desmond Hotel and Conference Center, Albany, NY

NEWLY EXPANDED OFFERING - 2-DAY CONFERENCE
March 30-31, 2012

Dear Health Care Professional,

I personally invite you to attend NYSUT's Professional Issues Forum on Health Care at the Desmond Hotel and Conference in Albany, NY on March 30 and 31, 2012.

The NYSUT Health Care Professionals Council is an advocacy group for more than 15,000 workers in the health field who are members of bargaining units throughout the state. The Professional Issues Forum on Health Care is a major event sponsored by the council.

This conference is designed for nurses, psychologists, clinical instructors, pharmacists and therapists who work in public and private sector schools, hospitals, universities, visiting nurse associations and residential and day treatment facilities. We encourage local presidents to support member participation in this important conference.

In recognition of 10 years of advocacy and activism, you have an opportunity to strengthen your professional skills, enhance your practice and network with other health care professionals who perform similar work.

  • Gain the knowledge you need by attending educational sessions that focus on electronic health records, workplace violence, student behavior and more for schools, hospitals and community health settings. You will gain new knowledge you can immediately implement and share with your colleagues.
  • Earn up to 6 contact hours for the workshop sessions and speaker presentations. AFT Healthcare is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation. NYSUT has submitted the content of this year's conference to AFT Healthcare for contact hour credit.
  • Become inspired with keynote speakers who will offer their expertise on advocating for the future of health care.
  • Reconnect with friends and colleagues; make valuable new contacts at the Friday evening celebration dinner and exhibits and also during the sessions and lunch on Saturday.
  • Learn about the latest resources and services available to NYSUT health care professionals in the exhibit hall.

Advance your practice and get involved in your union! Additional information on the conference is below. Please join us and register today!

In solidarity,

Kathleen M. Donahue
NYSUT Vice President
