About Ellen Schuler Mauk

In addition to serving the Faculty Association of Suffolk Community College for more than 30 years - including 28 years as its president and chief negotiator - Ellen Schuler Mauk is a deeply involved unionist at the statewide and national levels. A Higher Education Member of the Year, she is president of ED 39, representing community colleges on NYSUT's Board of Directors. She also chairs NYSUT's Community College Conference and is involved in activities ranging from Committee of 100 to AFT's Higher Education Program and Policy Council. She was nominated by Kevin Peterman, vice president of FASCC.
