Survey: SED wants your input on social and emotional development
The State Education Department and the Office of Mental Health will be issuing guidelines for voluntary implementation by school districts that incorporate social and emotional development for elementary and secondary school education programs pursuant to the Children's Mental Health Act of 2006 and the Board of Regents P - 16 Action Plan. Social and emotional skills provide a foundation for academic achievement, maintenance of good health, and civic engagement in a democratic society.
The following link will take you to a survey that SED is conducting on current and related practices in your district or schools on the implementation of several key Social and Emotional Development and Learning practices. NYSUT was not involved in developing this survey. NYSUT will continue to monitor and report on this initiative.
The survey is online only in the month of June and will take about 10 minutes to complete.
