Regents Update: June 2010 exam in Algebra 2/Trigonometry
The State Education Department has posted a field memo containing information on the first administration of the Algebra 2/Trigonometry Regents Exam, which will take place in June 2010. Schools will have the option of requesting and administering both Algebra 2/Trigonometry or Math B. This is the final step in the transition from Math A and Math B to Integrated Algebra, Geometry, and Algebra 2/Trigonometry.
The Office of State Assessments will make available on-line the Regents Examination in Algebra 2/Trigonometry Test Sampler in late October. The test sampler will contain examples of the types of questions, the formatting, and the scoring guides that are being developed for the exam.
Please note that graphing calculators are required for student use for this exam.
All schools that administer the exam in June 2010 will be participating in the post-administration score collection for standard setting. The procedures for this score collection will follow the same protocol as the Integrated Algebra and Geometry Regents exams.
The conversion charts for determining a student's score will be available on the SED web site no later than Rating Day, June 24.
