New York State United Teachers today congratulated Bill Owens on his come-from-behind victory in the 23rd District congressional race, saying his historic election represents a triumph of the concerns of working people over the ideology of the extreme right.

Lawsuit filed to block mandated flu vaccinations

A lawsuit has been filed on behalf of three NYSUT members employed by the Stony Brook University Medical Center seeking to block a mandate by the state Health Department that health workers be inoculated against seasonal influenza and this year's H1N1 virus.
