AUDIO: 'Bullying simply can not be tolerated,' says President Iannuzzi
"Since the deaths in Columbine High School in 1999, there has been a heightened focus on school safety and violence prevention. But as we learned at a peaceful college campus in rural Virginia last month, no place has absolute immunity from a troubled individual with a loaded weapon. More must be done." said NYSUT President Richard C. Iannuzzi in audio commentary that recently aired on WAMC Northeast Public Radio's Midday Magazine.

"Parents and teachers must continue to be partners in insuring that children are not only physically safe in school, but protected from the taunting and teasing that can cause deep and long lasting emotional wounds. Bullying simply can not be tolerated."
