NYSUT members participated and presented at the 21st annual 'Somos El Futuro' Legislative Conference hosted by the state Assembly/Senate Puerto Rican/Hispanic Task Force. NYSUT Vice President Maria Neira spoke at the conference's panel discussion on improving educational opportunities for Hispanic children. Topics covered at the weekend-long conference included immigration reform and increasing Hispanic college enrollment and retention.
