The second volume of Educator's Voice was distributed to RA delegates and is now available to members on the union's Web site at www.nysut.org/educatorsvoice.

Educator's Voice: Building on the Foundation, Literacy in the Middle Grades is NYSUT's journal of best practices in education, and features the work of NYSUT members, resources for educators and Web sites.

"This issue focuses on effective instruction for students in grades 4 to 8," said NYSUT Vice President Maria Neira.

The 98-page journal is part of NYSUT's commitment to give educators a forum to share research-based best practices and achieve positive outcomes for all students, Neira said.

Volume I, which debuted at the 2008 RA, focused on early literacy. Educator's Voice also includes a call for proposals for Volume III, which will be devoted to literacy in grades 7-12.
