The nonprofit group Autism Speaks has put together fliers, proclamations and other material to help spread autism awareness around the world.

Important concerns such as early diagnosis are part of the information available.

It's that time of year - the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's Team In Training members are working out and raising funds to fight blood diseases and cancer.

More than 380,000 participants have trained for marathons, half marathons, triathlons, 100-mile century bike rides and hiking adventures to raise money for research.

Proceeds help patients and families, fund research and increase public awareness of leukemia, lymphoma, myeloma and other blood cancers.

NYSPA convention

The New York State Psychological Association is holding its annual convention May 1-3 in Saratoga Springs.

The program includes sessions on: empowering victims of marital, dating and Internet violence; self-esteem as immunity from self-harming behavior in teens; future of clinical psychology; and how does poetry cure?
