NYSUT Leader goes electronic

Beginning this summer, local presidents, officers and elected delegates will receive their copy of the NYSUT Leader via e-mail and on the Web site. This revamped electronic replacement for the paper version of the Leader is designed to get relevant and timely information to local leaders more quickly and efficiently.

Mills calls off BOCES merger

State Education Commissioner Richard Mills has decided against a controversial merger of Sullivan and Orange-Ulster BOCES. In addition to conditions that make travel between the two BOCES difficult, Mills said leveling up two sets of labor contracts "would potentially eliminate any savings."
