Iannuzzi and NYSUT received an award from the network, an advocacy and informational group, for the union's continued efforts in promoting safe and healthy school environments. "Your efforts not only benefit students, but school employees," Iannuzzi said at the October ceremony in New York City. "Together, we've accomplished significant legislation, including last month's enacting of the Green Cleaning Bill - milestone legislation that will protect kids and adults for generations to come." NYSUT will continue advocacy of healthy school bills, Iannuzzi said, including the School Infrastructure Initiative, planned for next year by a national affiliate, the American Federation of Teachers.
