You can join a Webcast forum on 'going green'
Ask questions of environmental experts
Teachers and students in the fields of environmental science, biology and social studies are invited to join a Webcast forum on "going green" and other environmental issues, hosted by state Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli, in collaboration with Pace Law School.
Learning objectives for the Webcast forum, which will take place from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Monday, April 7, include:
• understanding the environmental programs currently offered by New York state;
• identifying the most significant environmental problems facing the state; and
• exploring ways government and private citizens can work to solve these problems, such as "going green" activities.
"We all have a role in protecting our most precious resource — the environment," DiNapoli said. "As we prepare for the 38th anniversary of Earth Day in April, it's important to reflect upon the environmental challenges we continue to face, and identify opportunities to work together to improve the health of our planet. This Webcast will give educators and students an opportunity to learn more about the issues and submit questions to a panel of top experts on the environment."
At the end of the Webcast, DiNapoli will join the panel in answering audience questions. To sign up for the Webcast or to register to attend the live event at Pace Law School's Moot Courtroom, visit www.osc.state.ny.us/green. Pace Law School is located at 78 North Broadway in White Plains.
