Professional development day at the zoo
The Utica Zoo and the Utica City School District Teachers Center have put together a professional development day for teachers for Saturday, April 26.
The morning session will be held for elementary teachers to introduce creative ways to use the zoo and its animals for science teaching. The afternoon session will be on living environment. Both sessions will focus on using the 30-acre zoo (http://www.uticazoo.org/), which has about 200 animals, as a resource in the classroom.
