The New York State Career and Technical Education Resource Center will be hosting seven regional full-day conferences around the state.  The purpose of the CTE Resource Center is to increase student achievement through the advancement of current research, best practices and direct support to CTE programs across New York State.  The Resource Center also provides technical assistance to CTE schools of high need.

The conferences are scheduled for:

• October 25th, 2006 : Buffalo  
• November 7th, 2006 : New York City
• November 9th, 2006 : Rochester 
• November 13th, 2006 : Syracuse  
• November 29th, 2006 : Long Island  
• December 4th, 2006 : Yonkers/White Plains
• January 23rd, 2007 : Albany 

The day includes major speakers and workshops on many  topics including Best Practices in Pedagogy, Integration of Academics, Technology, Role of TAs, Special Education Students in CTE, Curriculum Mapping: Using Software, The Future of CTE and more.

The conference is designed for regional CTE faculty including support staff, teaching assistants, administrators, counselors, technical trades, Tech Prep, integrated academics teachers, alternative education, special education, GED, Health Occupations, Agricultural, Science, Technology Education, Business and Family and Consumer Sciences Educators, Work Experience Coordinators and anyone intererested involved in professional development for CTE.
