New York Teacher

New York Teacher is NYSUT's statewide, official membership newspaper, published every two weeks during the school year and mailed to the homes of all NYSUT members. The paper is a perennial winner in the contests of the International Labor Communications Association.

Publications for leaders

The NYSUT Leader, a bi-weekly newsletter, provides local leaders with essential information to help them lead their members. Numerous specialty publications, including SRP NewsLink, Health and Safety News, New Member Insider and Retiree Organizer, are produced for constituent groups. Leader publications are available on the password-protected Leader Access section of the NYSUT Web site.

Online communications

NYSUT's Web site at www.nysut.org provides thousands of pages of useful content for members and a special password-protected site for leaders.

Publications

NYSUT's Publications Department also offers a wealth of helpful brochures, posters, CDs and videos for members and parents, such as information on testing and suggestions for a successful parent-teacher conference or back-to-school night. Many of these are available online in the HTML and PDF format in the Publications & Multimedia section of www.nysut.org.

Media Relations

NYSUT's Media Relations Department advances the union’s positions and goals through press releases, op-ed pieces, radio and television interviews, advertising and other outlets. Media staff also help local leaders in promoting their union’s image and dealing with difficult situations.
