An inspiring performance by the Central Islip Concert Choir not only filled the convention hall with melody, but also promises to fill the high school students' efforts to tour Italy, including a gig at the Vatican.

With many conventioneers chanting for an encore, retiree Judy Schultz introduced a special order of business for delegates to pass the hat to help fund the trip.

In a morning session highlighting the arts, folk singer Tom Chapin brought delegates to their feet with his satirical song, "Not On The Test."
