The Associated PressNEW YORK (AP) - First a bridge, now a curriculum.
The late Sen. Robert F. Kennedy, who was honored last month when the Triborough Bridge was named after him, will be the focus of lesson plans on social justice that will be offered to New York public schools, officials said Tuesday...
Lisa Byheny, a teacher at the Robert F. Kennedy Community High School who was involved in developing the lesson plans and has been using them in her classroom, said her students find Kennedy an inspiring figure.
"The greater lesson is what each of us can do as individuals in order to make a difference," Byheny said. "They see how he was able to reach out to people and affect them in a way that made people want to change for the better."
