JETA and School Board Ratify One Year Contract Extension
At the end of the 2007-08 school year back in June, both the union and the school board ratified the contract extension that was agreed to by the administration and JETA bargaining teams. Both sides will meet beginning in the fall to hopefully work out a multi-year contract. There were a number of minor changes to the contract in the one year extension that had been agreed to by both sides before June. These changes were reported to the membership at the general meetings in June.
AFT Offers Tools 4 Teachers
For a number of years now, our affiliate, the American Federation of Teachers (AFT), has provided a portionof their web site to help teachers at all levels do their jobs. They've called it the "T-Scource". They've changed the name this years to Tools 4 Teachers and it still provides some excellent ideas and suggestions for beginning and experienced teachers at all levels.
