NYSUT thanks the many educators who participated in the recent online survey on the 2007 grade 3-8 English language arts assessments in New York state. The feedback tool was available online from Jan. 23 to Feb. 16, and the response was overwhelming.
You told us in great detail how the tests impacted you and your students. You also provided feedback - positive and negative - on changes in testing requirements for English language learners and special education students. You can be sure we'll pass your comments on to the policymakers in the State Education Department.
"Our members are on the front lines of this massive testing effort," said NYSUT Vice President Maria Neira.
