The Sage Colleges' Academy for Character Education is currently accepting presenter proposals for its Ninth Annual Northeast United States Conference on Character Education which takes place Nov. 5, 2008 at the Sage Colleges in Albany. The theme of the event is "Character Matters: Strategies Leading to Excellence in Student Achievement, Attitudes and Actions."
The early-bird deadline for proposals is July 25, but proposals will be accepted through September 9, 2008.
The group also seeks nominations for its 2009 Champions of Character awards, which will be presented to exemplary leaders in character education during its March 2009 character awards banquet. Award categories include exemplary schools, teacher leaders and parent leaders. The application deadline is December, 2008.
