Voters in 30 districts approved their school budgets on the second vote.

Thirty-four communities went to the polls to vote on their school spending plans June 15. Three communities defeated their budget proposals for a second time, forcing school leaders to adopt contingency budgets.

Educators in Minisink Valley in Orange County, the Capital Region's Schenectady district and St. Regis Falls in the North Country will be held to a zero percent increase in spending. The Highlands Falls community, which missed the May statewide voting day, also rejected its budget proposal.

Two dozen districts across the state will be operating under austerity budgets this year.
