Momentive workers strike (Albany Times Union)

WATERFORD -- Unionized workers at Momentive Performance Materials Inc. on Thursday afternoon walked the picket line after failing to make progress in their grievance accusing the company of unjust discipline.

Dominick Patrignani, who heads at the plant, said the two-day strike grows out of the management team's treatment of workers.

"They're totally disrespectful to the work force," he said. "We exhausted grievances through the grievance process. This is our right to strike."

NYSUT joins striking Momentive workers

Dozens of NYSUT members and staff from the Capital District joined others from the Albany-area labor community Friday to picket in support of striking workers at the Momentive Performance Materials company in Saratoga County. January 12 marked the second anniversary of illegal and unilateral changes to and cancellation of all worker benefits by management.
