After four rounds of discussion and debate among PAC leaders and local presidents, the NYSUT Board of Directors has made endorsements for New York's Congressional delegation.

"Our democratic process may seem cumbersome at times, but no one said democracy was easy," said NYSUT Executive Vice President Andy Pallotta, who noted the union must do everything in its power to change the "toxic environment in Washington, D.C. We can help to do that by electing progressive, pro-union women and men like those on this list."

Board members considered candidates' voting records as well as their positions on key areas of interest to union members, including education, health care and state aid.

The NYSUT Presidents' Conference on Endorsements for the state Senate and Assembly races will be held Aug. 13-15 at the Hotel Albany.
