New York State Comptroller Thomas P. DiNapoliYou can learn more about your New York State and Local Employees' Retirement System (NYSLRS) benefits in many ways. Your plan book, for instance, is a great resource for detailed information about your specific benefits (such as your benefit calculation). And, of course, we're constantly updating our website with new information for our members.

About a year ago, in an effort to provide even more up-to-date information, we launched several different social media initiatives that cover a variety of retirement topics. You can subscribe to our blog, New York Retirement News at www.NYRetirementNews.com, where you will find important and timely information about your benefits. We also publish general interest stories, such as finding a financial planner, preparing for retirement and saving for retirement. Whether you have just started your career, are nearing retirement, or have already retired, you can find articles that are relevant to your needs, as well as comment on what you read and engage with NYSLRS and other readers.

You can follow us on Facebook at www.Facebook.com/NYSLRS and read about NYSLRS, preview the exciting self-service options that are coming to our website, and share them with people you know. You can also follow us on Twitter at www.Twitter.com/NYSLRS for quick tips and updates on a variety of retirement topics. And if you want to take a break from reading, you can sit back, relax and watch videos on YouTube at www.YouTube.com/user/NYSLRS for a more animated approach to learning about your retirement system.

Our social media outlets are a great way for you to stay informed about retirement-related topics that are important to you. They allow you to access information quickly, share what you find more readily, and stay up-to-date on any changes that affect your NYSLRS benefits.

Every month state Comptroller Thomas P. DiNapoli, sole trustee of the New York State and Local Employees' Retirement System, provides information on the system, which delivers retirement benefits to many NYSUT School-Related Professionals and other support staff.
