The Northeast Area Consumer Price Index for January 2014 was 251.045 — representing a change of 1.5 percent over the index for January 2013.
The New York-Northern New Jersey Area Consumer Price Index for January 2014 was 259.596— representing a change of 1.9 percent over the index for January 2013.
The February CPI will be available March 18, 2014.
Future projections of the CPI by businesses and economic organizations are found on page 3. CPI increases are projected at 1.7 percent for 2014 and 2.0 percent for 2015.
