The United States City Average Consumer Price Index (CPI-U) for September 2014 was 238.031 representing a change of 1.7 percent over the index for September 2013.
The Northeast Area Consumer Price Index for September 2014 was 253.154 — representing a change of 1.2 percent over the index for September 2013.
The New York-Northern New Jersey Area Consumer Price Index for September 2014 was 261.074 — representing a change of 1.0 percent over the index for September 2013.
The October CPI will be available November 20, 2014.
Future projections of the CPI by businesses and economic organizations are found on page 3. CPI increases are projected at 1.8 percent for 2014 and 1.9 percent for 2015.
