Consumer Price Index - April 2016

The United States City Average Consumer Price Index (CPI-U) for April 2016 was 239.261 — representing a change of 1.1 percent over the index for April 2015.

The Northeast Area Consumer Price Index for April 2016 was 254.270 — representing a change of 1.0 percent over the index for April 2015.

The New York-Northern New Jersey Area Consumer Price Index for April 2016 was 262.619 — representing a change of 1.0 percent over the index for April 2015.

The May CPI will be available June 15, 2016.

CPI increases are projected at 1.2 percent for 2016 and 2.3 percent for 2017.
