Support hurricane relief efforts
In anticipation of the generosity of our members and locals, NYSUT has made a donation from the NYSUT Disaster Relief and Scholarship Fund to assist with disaster relief in Texas, Louisiana and those areas experiencing unprecedented flooding in the wake of hurricanes Gustav and Ike.
President Dick Iannuzzi said donations have been made to both of NYSUT’s national affiliates, the AFT and NEA, targeting hurricane relief. The United Way of New York has also sought NYSUT’s support for its agencies in the affected areas.
Iannuzzi said the need is both massive and immediate and is encouraging NYSUT locals and members to send donations to the NYSUT Disaster Relief Fund.
