Syracuse NY, Aug. 25, 2009 - Students, their parents and teachers can get in a back-to-school state of mind - and pick up some useful tips and supplies - if they stop by the New York State United Teachers booth at The Great New York State Fair, Thursday through Sept. 7.
On hand to greet families and educators on the Fair’s opening day will be NYSUT officers Richard C. Iannuzzi, president; Maria Neira, vice president; and Lee Cutler, secretary-treasurer. The officers are expected to arrive at the union's booth at approximately 11 a.m. and will pass out school supplies as well as brochures with tips for parents and teachers. They will be assisted by NYSUT members from schools throughout the Syracuse area, who have volunteered to staff the booth during the 12 days of the Fair.
The NYSUT booth will be located in the Center of Progress building.
Iannuzzi and the other officers will be available to meet with the press. To arrange an interview, please call NYSUT’s media relations department at 518-213-6000, extension 6313. On opening day, call Matt Smith at 518-505-5825.
