Making the workplace safer

The New York Committee for Occupational Safety and Health and the New York Central Labor Council are offering training on Nov. 16 in New York City on how to prevent workplace violence.

Focus will be given on how to make a workplace less prone to violence. It will examine the real causes of workplace violence, strategies for protecting workers, and guidelines for how to be proactive.

The session is from 9 to noon and takes place at 275 Seventh Ave. (between 25th & 26th streets), Room 1644.

Panelists are Steve Mooser, director of safety and health for the Retail, Wholesale and Department Store Union (RWDSU), and Darlene Williams, council leader, Bronx Psychiatric Center, NYS Public Employees Federation.
