Where's the joy?

It's time for lawmakers to help us reclaim the joy of teaching and learning.

For many of us, education is a calling, not just a job. We made this our career because we care about our students, because we believe that education makes lives better, and because we want to make a difference. Most of all, we chose this path because we embrace the joy of teaching and learning. And it's time for lawmakers to embrace it, as well.

Take action now at the NYSUT Member Action Center to ask lawmakers to sign NYSUT's Reclaim the Joy Pledge, our 9-Point Plan to Reclaim the Joy of Teaching and Learning!

It has become crystal clear that there are those who don't understand or respect the joy of teaching and learning. It's what drives our teachers in every part of the state. It's what inspires students of every age. And, unfortunately, it's something that has been under attack again and again and again by the mind-numbing increase in high-stakes bubble testing, the senseless school aid hostage-taking, the assault on local control, the hostility toward teachers and public schools, and so much more over the past months and years.

Now it's time for lawmakers to help reclaim the joy.

Take action now at the NYSUT Member Action Center to ask lawmakers to sign NYSUT's Reclaim the Joy Pledge, our 9-Point Plan to Reclaim the Joy of Teaching and Learning!

Join us in convincing lawmakers that it's time to stand up for public schools and to pledge to help reclaim the joy of teaching and learning!

In solidarity,

Andrew Pallotta
NYSUT Executive Vice President

P.S.: The joy of teaching and learning is essential to education success! Help us reclaim the joy!
