It's important to honor the hard-working SRPs who help educate, feed and transport students, monitor their health, administer school offices and maintain facilities. With the signing of pro-worker legislation Tuesday by Gov. Kathy Hochul, this year's SRP Recognition Day served as an important reminder that our union is here for you. NYSUT fought hard to secure the amendments to Section 80 ensuring more of our SRPs are provided the greater workplace protections afforded to other public employees. It's a huge win and it is thanks to our members' advocacy that it's been secured.
