On July 1, Gov. Cuomo requested federal disaster relief designation from President Obama. The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has since declared areas affected by the 2013 New York summer storms and floods disaster zones.
NYSUT’s Disaster Relief Fund — made up of volunteer donations from union members and staff — was created to respond to members in need.
If you have been affected by the flooding and are in need of assistance; download, fill out and return a NYSUT Disaster Relief Fund application. NYSUT has also provided a checklist to assist you in filling out the application.
Contact NYSUT Social Services at 1-800-342-9810 ext 6206 to discuss the challenges you have as you rebuild after the flooding.
