AFT indoor air quality program coming in July

clearing the air: aft indoor air quality Join AFT Health & Safety this July for a five-day training on indoor air quality in schools, colleges and offices July 16-20, at the National Labor College in Silver Spring, Md.

The highly interactive course provides a comprehensive and strategic picture of air quality issues including policy and technical approaches. Participants will leave the course better able to work hand-in-hand with their administrators on effective and reasonable approaches to correcting problems with indoor air quality. One day will be devoted to a hands-on IAQ investigation in a Washington, D.C. school.

Topics to be covered include:

  • Health symptoms and illnesses associated with poor IAQ

  • Methods to investigate and assess IAQ problems

  • The ins-and-outs of general and local ventilation systems

  • Effective measures to get help and action in an indoor air quality crisis

  • Union approaches to IAQ based on success stories across the country

  • Best practices and policies that every employer should have in place
