NYSUT offers Sen. Bruno a symbol of his strength as a leader

Former state Sen. Majority Leader Joseph Bruno was honored during NYSUT's 2008 endorsement conference for his many years of leadership on education issues during his 32-year career in the Legislature's upper house.

Bruno was praised for his advocacy and support by NYSUT President Richard C. Iannuzzi and Executive Vice President Alan B. Lubin, who presented the former senator with a crystal dumbbell symbolizing his strength as a leader.

Sen. Bruno  receives a standing ovation from the hundreds of NYSUT leaders attending the conference.

The Rensselaer County Republican, who led the Senate from November 1994 until his departure in June, received a standing ovation from the hundreds of NYSUT leaders attending the conference.
