School-Related Professionals Member of the Year

Carol Herb
Monroe Woodbury Teachers Association

Carol Herb is a problem-solver and delivers results. She has served as chapter president of the Monroe-Woodbury Employees Association and as a delegate and second vice president of the Monroe-Woodbury Teachers Association since 1995. She has successfully negotiated five contracts with the district, has been an inspirational leader and a model for all members to follow.

Herb has been instrumental in the growth and development of the SRP group at Monroe-Woodbury. The MWEA has been well ahead of the curve on SRP leadership thanks to her guidance. She has organized SRP recognition day activities, encouraged EA members to participate in summer conferences and to run as delegates for the TA, as well as to serve on negotiation teams. She served as a key member of the TA's LAP team.

Herb is tirelessly dedicated to community events including the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walks. She has been a key organizer of annual VOTE-COPE drives, union elections and fundraisers for the EA's scholarship donation to Monroe-Woodbury graduating seniors.

Herb is a visionary leader who understands and epitomizes unionism in every sense of the word.
