How much of your district's school aid did the governor veto?

Source:  NYSUT News Wire

Earlier this week, the Senate and Assembly came to an agreement on the state budget and jointly passed legislation that included $600 million in school aid restorations.

Gov. Paterson vetoed the restorations just moments after it passed the Senate. "You can't spend money you don't have," he said to reporters, despite his own refusal to consider any fair-share revenue raisers.

So just what was vetoed? The Assembly has posted a document on their website detailing the Legislature's school aid restorations. You can download it at the link below.

The vetoes are a setback, but the fight for fair funding continues at the Capitol. Keep it pointed to NYSUT.org for further analysis and new developments.
