Source:  NYSUT Western NY Regional Office

We recently received an e-mail from Paul Aroune, president of Springville Faculty Association, alerting us to middle-level social studies teacher Joe Karb's recent appearance on C-SPAN. Karb was one of three C-SPAN 2010 Summer Teacher Fellows who created the Constitution Clips Teacher Resources at www.c-spanclassroom.org.

Good Afternoon Everyone:

joe karb on c-spanEvery day there are many fellow brothers and sisters around the state and country who do amazing things for our children. Today, one of my members was recognized for the amazing work he does on a daily basis. I wanted to share some information regarding Joe Karb, one of my fellow Springville Faculty Association members. He is an 8th Grade Social Studies teacher in the Springville-GI School District. He earned a teacher fellowship for C-SPAN this summer. He was a leader in developing new curriculum and interactive technology on bringing the Constitution to life in the classroom for C-SPAN's educational programming.

Today he was interviewed on C-SPAN, and I wanted to share the interview, as well as, the website he helped develop with you. I'm proud of all the amazing lessons and acts that go on daily in our profession by our fellow members. I wanted to share one of those moments with you.

Thank you.

Paul Aroune
SFA President
